Thermo-Recycling
«Valuable raw materials from waste»
If waste cannot be avoided, it must be recycled optimally. Thermo- recycling is an integral solution for all combustible waste that cannot be directly recycled in an effective and environmentally friendly manner (material recycling). New technologies and joint solutions are setting new standards in this area. Thermo- recycling combines proven thermal decomposition of waste with new, effective, and highly efficient recovery processes. Thermo- recycling thus goes far beyond traditional waste incineration, thermal waste disposal, or waste-to-energy (waste incineration with energy recovery). It meets the social, ecological, and economic challenges of sustainable raw material use.

Through targeted and continuous development over the past 15 years, the original waste incineration plant has been transformed into a modern thermo- recycling plant that represents the state of the art in Switzerland today. The entire process is described by the term “thermo-recycling,” which has already been registered as a trademark.

Thermo-Recycling:
An indispensable cornerstone of a
modern wast and resource
management strategy,
circular economy and
climate production.

The term encompasses the entire system from the waste source to marketable, high-quality products or to a safe final sink for pollutants and includes the following process steps:

-
Waste treatment/waste packaging
-
Thermal decomposition of waste
-
Utilization of the energy generated during thermal waste treatment
-
Flue gas cleaning
-
Processing of residues from flue gas cleaning
-
Dry discharge of slag
-
Slag processing
-
Refining of raw materials
-
Return of recovered raw materials to the material cycle
-
Environmentally friendly interim or final storage of any residual materials
